Lead Dental Assistant

St. George, UT
Full Time
Guardian Family Dental
Student (College)

Guardian Family Dental is a family-focused dental practice providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients of all ages — from infants to seniors. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, comfortable environment: sedation (nitrous), kid-friendly amenities (kids’ nook and treasure drawer), and personalized care for the whole family.

We’re looking for a Lead Dental Assistant who shares our commitment to patient comfort, teamwork, and excellence in care.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist dentists during procedures (general dentistry, restorative, extractions, etc.)
  • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized environment
  • Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral images using modern equipment
  • Take impressions, pour models, and assist with lab/ CEREC work as needed
  • Manage patient flow: greet patients, prepare them for treatment, explain post-op instructions
  • Help supervise and mentor other dental assistants or support staff — lead by example and ensure high standards
  • Help maintain inventory, sterilization protocols, and compliance with safety/sanitation standards
  • Communicate clearly with dentists, hygienists, front-desk, and patients to ensure smooth daily operations

What We’re Looking For

  • A certified/registered dental assistant in Utah (or eligible for licensure)
  • Experienced in general dentistry and comfortable assisting on a wide range of procedures
  • Skilled with dental technology — digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, CEREC if available, sterilization, and lab work
  • A reliable leader with good communication, organizational skills, and a team-oriented mindset
  • Compassionate and patient-focused — especially good with family dentistry and clients of all ages, including children
  • Comfortable working the above-listed schedule

Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: By appointment
  • Weekends: Off

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Work in a welcoming, family-oriented practice that serves patients of all ages
  • Predictable weekday schedule (Mon–Thu regular hours, flexible Friday by appointment) that supports work/life balance
  • Opportunity to take a leadership role and help shape the patient experience and support staff workflow
  • Work alongside experienced dentists and a full team in a modern office that values patient comfort, quality care, and teamwork
